Alice Womack Blanks

Mrs. Alice Womack Blanks of 2142 Old Cluster Springs Rd., South Boston, VA died Monday, July 2, 2012 at the age of 98. She was born in Halifax Co., VA on December 4, 1913 to the late Robert Lemuel Womack and the late Pattie Sydnor Roberts Womack and was married to the late Louis Clifton Blanks, Sr.. Mrs. Blanks was retired from Star Laundry and was a member of Glenwood United Methodist Church. Survivors include two daughters-in-law, Roslynn Blanks and Bettie Blanks, both of South Boston, VA; a grandaughter, Debra Comer and husband, Danny of South Boston, VA; two grandsons, Robert Derwin Blanks and wife, Carey of Stokesdale, NC and David Blanks and wife, Dana of South Boston, VA; two great grandchildren, Holly Oliver and husband, Jeff of Roxboro, NC and Travis Comer and wife, Kara of South Boston, VA; five great great grandchildren, Allyshea Oliver, Peyton Oliver, Jax Oliver, Taylor Comer, and Austin Comer; and her dog, "Muffin". In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sons, L.C. Blanks, Jr. and John Robert Blanks. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at 4:00 PM at Brooks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Woodfin officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 4 from 7 PM until 8:30 PM and at other times at the home of Debra and Danny Comer, 2022 Sandy Beach Rd., South Boston.
