Alston Marrow Gordon

Alston Marrow Gordon, 81, passed away on February 25, 2024 at Life Care Health Center in Hilton Head, SC. He is a native of Danville, VA. Alston is survived by his brother, Henry Hobgood Gordon, Jr. (Virginia); daughters, Terri Armstrong (David) and Wendy Grubbs (James); grandchildren, Maddie, Anna and Jack Armstrong, Aunt Myra Marrow, cousins, nieces and nephews and special friend, Marjorie Conner.

Alston was an avid golfer and tennis player who worked as a teaching pro. He played on the SC senior tennis circuit. He loved walking on the beach and chatting with friends. He was a very talented mechanic and handyman who could fix anything.

Alston was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Germany for three years.

The funeral and burial will be held at Oakhurst Cemetery in Clarksville, VA on Saturday, March 2, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home is assisting with the arrangements.
