Arthur Calvin "A.C." Stone

Arthur "A.C." Calvin Stone, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home in South Boston, Virginia, on Monday, October 20, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on Friday, March 23, 1951, A.C. lived a life dedicated to his family, his community, and the land he lovingly tended as a farmer.

A.C. was a lifelong resident of Virgilina, where born and raised. He was a man who valued hard work, integrity, and the simple joys of country living, qualities he imparted to his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his sons, Craig Stone (Angela) of South Boston, VA, and Chris Stone (Ginger) of Henderson, NC. A.C. was also a proud and loving grandfather to Heather Liles (Justin) of Clover, VA, and step-grandfather to Brian Adcock (Brandy) of Macon, NC, and Bradlee Adcock (Becca) of Oxford, NC. His great-grandchildren, Aubree, Brynleigh, Lexie, and L.J. Liles, brought immense joy to his later years.

A.C.s memory will also be cherished by his brother, Tommy Stone (Mary) of Roxboro, NC, and his sister-in-law, Judy Stone of Virgilina, as well as his special nephew, Timmy Stone, and a host of other nieces and nephews who dearly loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew Stone and Bessie Wilkins Stone; his brother, Roosevelt Stone; and his sisters, Betty S. Williamson and Eardean S. Elliott. Despite leaving school after the 7th grade, A.C. was a self-taught man who gained respect as a devoted farmer and a pillar of the agricultural community.

A service to honor and celebrate A.C.'s life will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Hitesburg Baptist Church with the Reverend Ian Rigney officiating. Friends and family are invited to gather afterwards at the home of Craig Stone to remember and celebrate his life, as he would have wanted.

A.C.'s legacy is one of love, perseverance, and dedication—a testament to a life well-lived. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
