Barbara Ann Matthews Seamster

Alton, VA - Barbara Ann Matthews Seamster, wife of the late Frank Lee Seamster, Sr., passed away Friday, April 3, 2020, at the age of 78. She was born on May 18, 1941 in Halifax County to the late William Logan and Sadie Wilkerson Matthews. Barbara Ann was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who enjoyed flowers and watching birds. She was a member of Union United Methodist Church in South Boston. Cherishing her memories are her son, Frank Seamster, Jr.; daughter-in-law, Faye Seamster Rudd; grandchildren, Mandy Stauble (Brian), Shannon Arrington (Shawn); great grandchildren, Kody and Kyle Stauble and Bradwin Arrington; as well as a number of nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by her special dog, “Sam”. In addition to her husband and parents, Barbara Ann was preceded in death by her son, Clarence “Pee Wee” Seamster; brothers Buck, Glenn and Frank Matthews; and sisters Willie Mae Jones and Christine Jones. The family will hold a private graveside service at Union United Methodist Church.
