Byron Scott Moore Jr., born on October 6th, 1989, known as Scott, departed from this world on Thursday, June 4th, 2026, in West Virginia. With profound sorrow and heavy hearts, we remember a remarkable soul who touched the lives of many.
Scott is survived by his beloved children, Atlantis, Havyn, and Bailee Moore, who were the lights of his life. He deeply cherished the joys of fatherhood alongside their mother, Michelle Dunn. His loving parents, Byron Scott Moore Sr. and Angela Ridgeway, carry forward his legacy with pride and affection.
He leaves behind memories shared with his sister Amber Barnett and her husband L.J., and his brother Corey Moore and wife Bailey. His adored nieces, Charlee, Bunny, and Santana Barnett, along with numerous nieces and nephews on his mother's side of the family, will forever remember his lively spirit. In addition, Scott is survived by his maternal grandmother Brenda Cobb, and numerous aunts and uncles on his father's side, who were constant figures throughout his life.
Scott was preceded in death by his great grandparents, whose stories and values he held dear; his paternal grandparents, Forest and Corrie Moore; Uncle Stephen Taylor; maternal grandfather Eddie Ridgeway; and Aunt Rose Nester.
A talented mechanic, Scott had a passion for cars, tirelessly working on and driving them. He especially enjoyed listening to music from car stereo systems. Known for his love for artwork and tattoos, Scott adorned his world with color and stories captured on canvas and skin.
Beyond his hobbies, Scott found great joy from playing baseball and softball. His compassionate nature shone bright as he cared for animals, often opening his home to strays in need of shelter and love.
Scott's life will be celebrated in a memorial service on Sunday, June 14th, beginning at 2:00 pm, at Nelson Baptist Church in Nelson, VA, where family and friends will gather to honor his memory and share cherished stories of love and laughter.
In honor of Scott's memory, the family welcomes donations made directly to Brooks Lyon Funeral Home to assist with expenses.
Arrangements are being thoughtfully handled by Brooks Lyon Funeral Home.
