It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Carrington "C.B." Ben Brewer, after a fierce, year-long battle with cancer. Born on May 3, 1959, in Buffalo Junction, VA, Carrington graced this world with warmth and resilience for 66 years before passing on October 24, 2025, at his beloved residence on Hites Mill Road in Virgilina, VA. He was a life-long member of Union Chapel Baptist Church.
C.B., known for his unwavering work ethic and kind spirit, spent his life dedicated to both his family and his passions. After obtaining his GED, he embarked on a fulfilling career as a farmer, a calling deeply rooted in the Virginia soil he cherished. His primary occupation, however, was at Power House, where he found purpose and camaraderie. Never one to sit still, C.B. also pursued his passion as a diesel mechanic, lending his skills to Wilson Transport Service, LLC, Rocky Branch Contractors, and Environmental Solutions.
C.B. was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Thomas Edward Brewer and Minnie Alice Elliott Brewer, as well as his brothers Winston Brewer, Roy Brewer, June Brewer, Marion Brewer; sisters, Joyce Williams and Alice Clay; and special friend, Willie Wilson.
He leaves behind a family who cherished him deeply. His brother Thurman Brewer (Kay), residing in Oxford, NC, sisters Mary Elizabeth Elliott (Tommy) and Sherby Brewer Wall of Virgilina, mourn his departure. He also leaves behind a treasured circle of special friends: Jody Williams, Patsy Sibley, Beverly Woods, and William Page Wilson, who will forever hold him in their hearts. The family wants to thank Patsy for her dedication and loving care.
A celebration of Carrington's life will be held at Union Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery at 4433 Shiney Rock Rd. Clarksville, VA 23927 on Tuesday, October 28, 2025 at 11:00 AM, where memories of his laughter and love will be shared by all who were lucky enough to have known him.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home, who ensured C.B. was taken care of with the dignity and respect he always extended to others.
C.B.'s legacy is one of dedication, love, and persistence. His life was a testament to the values of family, hard work, and friendship. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered by all whose lives he touched.
