Charlie Samuel Rudder

Charlie Samuel Rudder of South Boston, VA, passed away on Wednesday, February 18th, 2026, at the age of 89. Born to the late George Garnett Rudder and the late Marsha "Margie" Saunders Rudder on November 6th, 1936, Charlie lived a life marked by dedication, service, and love for his family and community.

Charlie proudly served his country in the United States Army, embodying the values of honor and commitment that he carried throughout his life. After his military service, he dedicated over 36 years of his career to Georgia Pacific, where he was known for his hard work and integrity. In addition to his time at Georgia Pacific, Charlie also contributed over 15 years of service at VIR, where he was cherished by his colleagues and friends.

Charlie is survived by his loving son, Michael Dwayne Rudder, who brought immense joy and pride to his life.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 28th, 2026 at 2:00 PM in the Liberty Christian Church Cemetery with the Reverend Steve Dyer officiating. The family will receive friends an hour before the service, beginning at 1:00 PM.
