It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Chelsey Lynn Malone, a beloved wife, mother, daughter, and friend, who left us on Saturday, May 3rd, 2025, at the age of 37. Chelsey was born on November 29th, 1987 to the late J. Earl Hazelwood and Katherine Hazelwood Hudson.
Chelsey's life was devoted to her family, and she found her greatest joy in her son, Coy Malone, around whom her world revolved. Her love for her family was matched by her passion for crafting and drawing. She pursued graphic design through college courses, showcasing her talent and creativity. Chelsey also enjoyed gaming, especially when she could share this pastime with her husband, Michael Malone. Her heart of gold, kindness, and ever-present smile made her a beacon of warmth in the lives of those who knew her.
Chelsey leaves behind her devoted husband, Michael Malone, and her adored son, Coy Malone. She is also survived by her loving mother, Katherine Hudson, and her stepfather Tommy. She will be deeply missed by her special cousin, who was like a sister, Marie Tucker, and her husband Chris, along with her brother and sister-in-laws, Wanda Garner (Howard), Wendi Ballou (Darnell), and Frank Malone Jr. (Monica). Chelsey's memory will be cherished by her aunts and uncles, Eugene Martin (Lilly), Texie Snead, Eva Martin, and Linda Martin, as well as her extended family of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Chelsey was preceded in death by her father, J. Earl Hazelwood, her brother Jacob Hazelwood, and her mother and father-in-law, Susan and Frank Malone.
A graveside service will be held at Clover Cemetery in Clover, VA, on Wednesday, May 7th, 2025, at 2:00 pm. Family and friends are invited to gather at the home of Marie and Chris Tucker in Clover to share memories and celebrate Chelsey's life.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Brooks-Lyon Funeral Home. In this time of sorrow, we ask that you keep Chelsey’s family in your thoughts and prayers as they navigate this difficult period. She will be remembered for her loving nature, kindness, and the joy she brought into the lives of everyone she touched.
