With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Daniel Corbett Wagner on September 14, 2026. He was born on January 23, 1985, in Lexington County, South Carolina to Susan Mace.
Daniel dedicated his life to embodying integrity, kindness, and strength. He pursued higher education with dedication, earning an Associate's Degree in General Education from Fayetteville Technical Community College. At the time of his passing, Daniel was actively working toward his Bachelor's degree in Operations Management at Southern New Hampshire University. Daniel understood the importance of ongoing personal development and desired to be a role model for his children.
His love for service was further exemplified during his time in the Army, where he was serving his country with honor and distinction. Daniel wanted to be a soldier since he was a little boy; he had completed almost 21 years active duty in the Army as E-8 rank First Sergeant with 5 total deployments to Afghanistan. Most of his service time was in Fort Bragg, NC with 3rd Special Forces Group, then 3 years in JBER, AK, and lastly stationed: 529th Regimental Support Company, 3rd U.S. Infantry Regiment “The Old Guard” in Fort Myer, VA. Daniel's passion was mentoring and developing young soldiers; he always made people feel seen and appreciated. Daniel's commitment to helping others was a defining trait, as was his active support for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, an organization he held close to his heart.
Daniel's interests were as varied as they were vibrant. A die-hard fan of the University of South Carolina Gamecock Football, his spirit was always high on game days. He found solace and adventure on his Harley Davidson Road Glide, and he relished the challenges of weightlifting and working with his hands. Daniel was particularly skilled at car projects and home remodeling, always eager to tackle the next big project.
Family was central to Daniel’s life. He treasured the moments spent with loved ones, whether through RV travels, exploring the great outdoors while hiking in Alaska, or gathering for family dinners. His warmth and enthusiasm for life left an indelible mark on all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Megan Lea Wagner; mother, Susan Mace; children, Daniel Wagner II, Kaden Wagner, Cristianna Wagner, Alanna Wagner and Latham Wagner; sisters, Becky Johnson & husband, Matthew Kirby Johnson, Sara Wagner and Ashley Mace; brother-in-law, Luke Tingler; mother-in-law & father-in-law, Chris & Kim Tingler; 10 nieces & nephews; and a chosen brother, Kenneth Andrews & wife, Nydea Andrews.
He was preceded in death by his dad, Don Alexander.
