Diana Caroline Hansen Schwab, 76,(originally Diana Caroline Hansen)passed away on November 24, 2015. Diana was born January 8, 1939 in Hoboken, NJ to the late Charles Hansen and Rose DeSando Hansen. Diana graduated from A.J. Demarest High School in Hoboken in 1956. After graduating, she attended Montclair State College where she earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree on June 9, 1960. She met Robert D. Schwab in 1959 on a blind date; she decided to not let him go and they married on September 3, 1960 in East Orange, N.J. They moved to Wall Township N.J. in 1962 where they raised their 4 children. After substitute teaching a while, Diana earned her N.J. Teaching Certificate as Teacher of the Handicapped in August 1973 after which she started teaching at Manasquan High School full-time. She earned her Master of Science in Education on May 31, 1980 and continued teaching in Manasquan until 1996, when she retired. Diana enjoyed gardening, travel and an occasional camping trip. She had a great love for classical music and on any weekend Gilbert and Sullivan operas were on the stereo. Diana and Robert were active members of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Manasquan, N.J. as choir members and served on the church council. During the 80s and 90s they were members of the Lakewood Mӓnner and Damenchor where Diana ran the kitchen and staff during events, especially their huge Octoberfest celebrations. After retiring, Diana and Robert built a home in Buffalo Junction, VA, where she continued to enjoy gardening and boating on the lake. They were active members of the Clarksville Presbyterian Church. Diana Schwab is survived by her sons, Robert C. Schwab of Buffalo NY and Erich R. Schwab of San Antonio, TX; daughters, Heather (Schwab) Galloso of Edinburgh, TX, and Dawn (Schwab) Koenig of Cedar Run, NJ; thirteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at the Clarksville Presbyterian Church, Clarksville, VA at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 11, 2015 officiated by the Reverend Jim Moss. Visitation and a reception for friends and family will immediately follow at the church. A memorial service for friends and family in N.J. will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Osborn Ave, Manasquan, NJ. The Schwab family is being cared for by Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home, Clarksville, VA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the respective churches: Clarksville Presbyterian Church, P.
