Donald L. Ellixson, Sr., 68, of Virgilina, VA, and Boyertown, PA, died on January 11, 2019, at the home of his daughter. Born in Delaware County, PA, he was preceded in death by his parents, Cornelius L. and Birdie Mae (Miller) Ellixson, and his brother, Cornelius (Neal) L. Ellixson, Jr. Don, a multifaceted and creative entrepreneur, had varied business interests throughout his life, including a restaurant, The Pit Stop, in Virgilina, VA, the Mountain Meadow Springs Bottled Water Company in Bechtelsville, PA, and the promotion of martial arts through FFKA. An exceptionally loving and devoted father and grandfather, Don was also a colorful storyteller, a connoisseur of food and wine, an adventurous world traveler, a generous and welcoming host, and steadfastly loyal to his many, many friends. He was beloved by all who knew him. He is survived by his three children: his daughter, Melissa E. Swenk, and her husband, Jon; his son Donald L., Jr., and his wife, Jana; his son Thomas and his wife, Stacey; and his children’s mother, Diana L. Ellixson. Also surviving him are his six beloved grandchildren: Asia and Dylan Swenk; Tristan, Charlie, and Piper Ellixson; and Vander Ellixson; his brother John S. Ellixson and his wife, Gretchen; his sister, Valerie E. Lee; his brother James K. Ellixson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Donald Ellixson, Jr., Thomas Ellixson, Jon Swenk, Romeo D'Aurizio, Arch M. Lee, Sr., James K. Ellixson, Jr. In Boyertown, PA, a visitation will be held on Thursday, January 17, 2019, 9:30 – 11:00 a.m., followed by a celebration of life at at Morrell Funeral Home, Inc. In Clarksville, VA, there will be visitation held on Saturday, January 19, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home, with a graveside service to follow at the Virgilina Cemetery, Virgilina, VA. Following the burial, the family will receive friends at The Pit Stop Restaurant.
