Dorothy Bunn, a cherished resident of Clarksville, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, August 18th, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on November 4th, 1946, Dorothy devoted her life to her family, faith, and passions, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and creativity.
She was a dedicated cloth inspector by profession, working for many years at Burlington Industries. Dorothy was well-known for her love of many things, including ice cream, particularly cookies and cream, QVC shopping, crocheting, enjoying her beautiful flowers, and her deep devotion to the Lord.
She leaves behind a loving family who will miss her dearly. This includes her children, Lisa Elsaesser, Kim Griffin (Frank), and Brian Bunn (Hope); and her grandchildren, Dustin Elsaesser (Brittany), Amanda McKay (Brandon), C. Dylan Smith (Alyssa), Megan White (Brad), Josh Smith (Kyndall), Kayla Foster, and Chad Bunn. Dorothy also had her bonus grandchildren: Alesha Elmer (Adam), Jase Griffin (Whitney), Brett Griffin (Sam), and Gabby Griffin, as well as over 20 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Louise Weston, and her best friend Reba Bass, with whom she spoke every day and they enjoyed many adventures together. Not to be forgotten are her faithful neighbors who were always helpful and kept a close eye on Dorothy.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, William Edward Clark and Rothwell Hodges Clark, her beloved husband Henry Bunn, and her granddaughter Ashley Brook Shrith.
A graveside service to celebrate Dorothy's life will be held on Saturday, August 22nd, at 11:00 AM at Oakhurst Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home.
