Dural Lacy Bowen

VIRGILINA - Mr. Dural Lacy Bowen, Sr. of Virgilina passed away on Saturday, December, 16, 2017 at the age of 67. He was born in Halifax Co., VA on April 30, 1950 the son of Evelyn Palmer Bowen and the late Truett Lacy Bowen. Mr. Bowen was a graduate of Halifax Co. Senior High and worked as a welder until his retirement. Survivors include his mother, Evelyn P. Bowen of Virgilina; sons, Dural Lacy Bowen, Jr. and wife, Wendy of Virgilina, Donnie Lee Bowen of Nelson, and Dennis Louis Bowen of Nelson; brother, Dwight Bowen and wife, Marilyn of Virgilina; sisters, Dianne B. Lowery of Roxboro, NC and Brenda Ellixson and husband, Ray of Southport, NC; grandchildren, Agatha, Darren, and Jonathan Bowen; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Virgilina Cemetery with Reverend Norman Talley officiating. The family will receive friends at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home on Monday, December 18 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and at other times at the home, 2192 Bowen Rd., Virgilina.
