Earl Bowman Richardson

Earl Bowman Richardson, a resident of Virgilina, VA, passed away on Monday, March 30th, 2026, at the age of 92. Bowman was born on March 6th, 1934, to the late Roy and Georgia Bowman Richardson.

Bowman was a long-time member of North Fork Baptist Church. He was a man of quiet faith and enjoyed the fellowship and support of his church. Bowman worked as a manager at Felton Brothers Concrete for many years. Beyond his professional life, Bowman served proudly in the United States Army, reflecting his love for his country and his sense of duty. He spent many joyful days fishing, especially catfishing on Kerr Lake, a favorite pastime that brought him great peace and countless memories. He was also an avid gardener, tending to both vegetable and flower gardens with care and delight, nurturing nature's beauty for all to enjoy. Bowman also enjoyed family vacations at Topsail Beach where he spent many hours patiently searching for shark teeth and seashells.

He is survived by sons, Kenneth Richardson (Kathy) of Mechanicsville, VA and Carl Richardson (Sharon) of Hillsborough, NC; daughter, Darlene S. Richardson of Chesterfield, VA; siblings, Montrose Martin of Hudson, NC and David Richardson of Collinsville, VA; grandchildren, Trina Abell, Lauren Laws, Stephen Richardson, Jamie Richardson, Jennifer Richardson, and David Richardson; and 9 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister, Ella Spencer.

A Memorial Service will be held on April 25, 2026, at 2:00 PM in the Brooks Lyon Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends immediately after the service at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home.

There will be a private family burial at a later date.
