Mrs. Elizabeth Frances Frazier Burnett, 93, wife of Lawrence Whitney (Jack) Burnett, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 1st at MeadowView.Born September 3, 1922 in Buffalo Junction, she was one of six children born to Otis Samuel Frazier, Sr. and Ida Mae Glasscock Frazier.Elizabeth was a graduate of Clarksville High School with the Class of 1939 and retired from Burlington Industries in 1992, spending the majority of that time as a Lab Technician in the Finishing Plant.She loved her job and reluctantly retired after 42 years of service.Elizabeth was an expert seamstress and she used her expertise designing wedding and bridesmaid’s gowns for many local young ladies.An everyday occurrence in Elizabeth’s life was to work all day, come home and prepare dinner, cut out a dress and sew it together and then dress one of her daughters in it for school the next day.She loved working in her yard and that was obvious when you rode by her house in the spring and saw the many azaleas and flowers blooming.Elizabeth lived her whole life in the Buffalo Springs community and was a member of and attended Gravel Hill Baptist Church.On Friday, December 4, 2015, the family will receive friends at the church at 1:00-1:45 PM. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 2:00 PM with the Reverends Joey Tucker and Jane Lyon officiating.Interment will follow in Gravel Hill Cemetery.In addition to her husband of 72 years, Elizabeth is survived by her children, Brenda B. Powell and her husband, Fredric of South Boston, Barbara B. Jacobs-Ascher and her husband, David, of Smithfield, and Michael R. Burnett and his wife, Jackie, of Clarksville.Her grandchildren, Richard Powell (Renee), Lewis Powell (Tammy), all of South Boston, Lisa J. Noel (deceased) and her husband, Gregory, of Smithfield and Beth P. Redd of Roxboro, NC; great-grandchildren, Allen Powell, Whitney Powell, Colton Powell, Logan Redd and Michaela Noel, and brothers, Otis Samuel Frazier, Jr. of South Boston and Earl Meredith Frazier of Roanoke also survive.She was preceded in death by her sisters, Emma Gray F. Meeler and Doris F.
