Emmitt Owen Link

Emmitt Owen Link of Alton, VA went to his Heavenly home on Thursday, April 3rd, 2025 at the age of 87. Born on June 23rd, 1937 he was the son of the late William Henry Link Sr and Elizabeth Rogers Link. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Crenshaw Link.

Emmitt was known for his warmth, generosity, and sharing the love of his Saviour, Jesus Christ. His life was a testament to kindness and hard work, embodying the values of a generation that believed in community, integrity, and love for family above all else. He was a member for 52 years at Centerville Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and drove the bus for the church bus ministry.
He was the owner of Links Exterminating for 35 years and in his past time he loved to be outside gardening, fishing & hunting.

Emmitt was an anchor in the lives of all who knew him—a devoted friend, a loving father, and a beloved member of the community. Throughout his life, Emmitt never met a stranger and was a source of strength and guidance, always ready with a smile or a helping hand.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and numerous cherished memories. He is survived by his children, Teresa Arrington (Earl, Sr), Donnie Link (Cathy) and Charlene Rimmer (Todd); 11 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; brothers, Bruce Link (Margaret) & Earnest Link (Margaret); numerous nieces & nephews and his beloved church family.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by siblings, William Henry Link, Jr; Bernice Link; and Violet Link Deal.

A Funeral Service will be held at Centerville Baptist Church on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Todd McClure officiating. Burial will follow in Halifax Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, 1:00 - 2:00 at the church.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial to Centerville Baptist Church Mission Fund.
