Estelle Thomas Cox

Estelle Thomas Cox, of Virgilina, Virginia, passed away on September 19, 2026, at the age of 94. She was born on October 9, 1931, in Mecklenburg County to the late Tom Thomas and Pattie Thomas Tuck.

She began her professional journey at Daystrom Furniture, where she was known for her dedication and exceptional work ethic. Beyond her career, Estelle's life was deeply rooted in her Christian faith. A devoted follower, she lived her life with unwavering belief and love for the Lord. Estelle exemplified her faith through acts of kindness, community service, and by being a beacon of light to those around her. Her spiritual guidance and compassionate nature made her a beloved figure in her church community and beyond.

She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Green and husband, Ronnie; granddaughters, Dana Marie Howell Amburgey and Crystal Howell Taylor; great grandchildren, Levi Abernathy and Daniel Taylor.

Estelle was preceded in death by her first husband Willie Cox, and her second husband Henry Morris. In addition to both of her husbands, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Carol Cox Howell Lowe.

The family would like to express a special thank you to Reverend Herbert Brown and neighbors Tommy and Elizabeth Elliott for their dedication and compassion towards Estelle.

A funeral service to honor Estelle's memory will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, September 23rd, at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home. A visitation will be held one hour prior, beginning at 1:00 pm. A burial will directly follow the funeral service at Oakridge Cemetery.
