Frances Owen Thomas

Mrs. Frances Owen Thomas of Alton, VA, passed away on Friday, September 2, 2022. Born in Halifax County, VA, she was the daughter of the late Seddie J. and Ella Burgess Green and was the widow of the late W. A Thomas. Mrs. Thomas was considered the matriarch of her family and truly loved the company of her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed dressing up and going out on shopping trips. Mrs. Thomas was a member of Cedar Grove Methodist Church.

Cherishing many fond memories are her daughters, Margaret Keatts, Gayle Gravitt and Linda Morris (Burnett) all of South Boston; grandchildren, Donna Shields, Robin Moore, both of Halifax, and Dana Edwards (Tony) of Warrenton, VA; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and special friend, Jean Oakes. In addition to her husband and parents,
Mrs. Thomas was preceded in death by sons, Larry Reaves and Lowell Thomas Reaves; granddaughter, Michelle Gravitt Starks and 8 brothers and sisters.
