Frank Edgar "Ed" Howerton

SOUTH BOSTON - Mr. Frank Edgar "Ed" Howerton of South Boston, VA passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2015. He was born on March 1, 1934 and was 81 years old. Mr. Howerton was an employee of J.P. Stevens for many years and a part time farmer. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Hamlett Howerton; one son, Frank Edward Howerton and wife, Rebecca; one grandson, Brandon Scott Howerton and wife, Karen; two great grandchildren, Cadence and McKenzie; and one brother, Trent Howerton. He was preceded in death by parents, William Howerton and Willie Conner Howerton; two sisters, Marie Estes and Laura Howerton; and three brothers, Raymond Howerton, Cedric Howerton, and Owen Howerton. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 2:00 PM in Halifax Memorial Gardens with the Reverend Jack Stewart officiating. The family will receive friends at the home of his son, Frank Howerton, 1054 Seven Oaks Dr., South Boston.
