Gladys Maria Escalera

Gladys Escalera passed away on Monday, April 20, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and devotion to her family. She will be remembered for her caring nature and the deep bonds she shared with those around her.

Gladys is survived by her loving husband, Miguel Escalera. She was previously married to Jamie Vivas.

She is also survived by her children, Veronica Vivas, John Hugo Vivas, Maria Rodriguez, and Maritza Vivas. She was a proud grandmother to Marisela Palacio ,Ruby Mejia, Marina Mejia, Marimar Mejia, Maritzabell Mejia, Gonzalo Palacio, Daniel Palacio, Gladys Johanna Vivas, John David Vivas, Junior Vivas, Christopher Vivas and Hugo Vivas.

Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren: Adrian Flores, Marcellina Vivas, Adelina Palacio, Horacio Palacio, Matthew Mesa, and Luna Palacio.

She is also survived by her siblings: Roma Barpeto, Merly Bappelo, Josefa Barreno, Fernando Barreno, Jenny Barreno, and Jose Barreno.

She was predeceased by her siblings Rosehber Barrelo and Maria Bappeno.

Gladys will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew and loved her. Her memory will live on through the generations she leaves behind.

A Service will be held at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, 5 PM until 6 PM at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home.
