Mrs. Gladys Yancey Franklin of 1052 John B. Scott Trail, Scottsburg, VA died Saturday, February 23, 2013 at the age of 78. She was born in Halifax Co., VA on December 20, 1934 to the late Walter H. Yancey and the late Gertrude Matthews Yancey Lane and was married to the late Robert M. Franklin, Sr. Mrs. Franklin was a member of Glenwood United Methodist Church and was a retired weaver from J.P. Stevens. She is survived by two daughters, Judy Rash and Hope Riddle and husband, Ronnie, all of South Boston, VA; two sons, Robbie Franklin and wife, Susan of Scottsburg, VA and Ricky Franklin and wife, Paula of Chesterfield, VA; two brothers, Lloyd Yancey and wife, Juanita of Ringgold, VA and Harold Dean Yancey and wife, Brenda of Madison Heights, VA; 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one sister, Barbara Ray and one brother, Walter H. Yancey, Jr. Funeral services will be held on Monday, February 25, 2013 at 1:00 PM at Glenwood United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Woodfin and Rev. Walter Harold Yancey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brooks Funeral Home on Sunday, February 24, 2013 from 5 until 6:30 PM and at other times at the home of her son & daughter-in-law, Robbie & Susan Franklin, 1044 John B.
