Glenn Jerry Hylton

SCOTTSBURG, VA Mr. Glenn Jerry Hylton, husband of Wanda Jean Hazelwood Hylton, went to his Heavenly home Friday, April 26, 2019 at the age of 75.Born in Henry County, VA on April 21, 1944, he was the son of the late Elmer Gene and Addie Viar Hylton. Jerry loved church and regularly attended Grace Baptist Church. He was known as a “tinkerer” and loved old cars and junk.He enjoyed all sports, whether watching Nascar or a ballgame on television. In earlier years, he enjoyed playing golf. He loved catching up on the news, always reading the newspaper. In addition to his wife, Wanda Jean, he is survived by sons: Terry Glenn Hylton and friend, Robin Williams of Keysville, VA; Ryan T. Hylton and wife, Corina of Scottsburg, VA; and Shawn P. Hylton and wife, Audrey of Fishersville, VA; a sister, Vickie Hill and husband, Eddie of Statesville, NC; and his grandchildren: Seth Hylton, Jagger Hylton, Emma Hylton, Hazel Hylton and Greyson Cove Hylton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gene Hylton. Funeral Services for Jerry Hylton will be Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at Grace Baptist Church at 1:00 PM with Reverend Jack Stewart and Reverend Thomas Warren officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.The family will receive friends on Monday, April 29, 2019 at Grace Baptist Church from 6:00-8:00 PM and at other times the home, 7093 James D. Hagood Hwy., Scottsburg, VA.
