Grace Walker Taylor

Grace Walker Taylor, widow of John Thomas “J.T.” Taylor, of Clarksville, died on Friday, June 5, 2015, at her home.She was born to the late Travis Harlan and Kathleen Nunn Walker on September 5, 1934.Grace was a retired school teacher who also worked on the tobacco market following her husband, J.T.She was an avid volunteer at Averett University (her alma mater), Clarksville Museum, Duke Homestead, and Clarksville Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. Mrs. Taylor is survived by her daughters, Katie Wagstaff (Hunter) of Durham, NC, Lynn Griffith (Kyle) of Pawley’s Island, SC, her grandchildren, Jessica (Matthew Howe) and Hillary Wagstaff, Jonathan (Crystal) and Jackson Griffith, her great grandchildren, Zander Howe and Ethan and Rebecca Lynn Griffith and her brother, Gene Edward “Ted” Walker and wife Nancy of Buffalo Junction.The family will receive friends on Sunday at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home from 2:00 PM until 3:30 PM.The funeral service will follow at 4:00 PM at Clarksville Baptist Church with The Reverend Doctor Gregory Randall officiating.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Clarksville Regional Museum (434-374-4434), or Gravel Hill Cemetery Fund, P.O.
