South Boston Mrs. Hazel Gertrude Chapman Clienhans passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at the age of 83. Born in Durham, NC on March 27, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Lee Chapman, Sr. and the late Dossie Taylor Chapman and was married to the late Willard Eugene Clienhans. Hazel was a member of Mt. Cana United Methodist Church and the UMW, Woodmen of the World Camp 106, and American Legion Post 8 Ladies Auxilliary. She is survived by daughter, Ginger C. Farmer and husband, Wayne; grandchildren, Cindy G. Fisher, Amy F. Fears, David W. Farmer, Brian E. Clienhans, and Brooke C. Compton; great-grandchildren, Libby Taylor Fisher, Chance Farmer, Kenlee Farmer, Malory Fisher, Ken Fears, Miranda Fears, and Justin Compton; and a nephew, Michael Chapman. Other than her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her son, Mervyn E. Clienhans; her granddaughter, Tammy G. Seate; a great-grandson, Thomas Seate and brother, Charlie L. Chapman, Jr. Funeral services will be Thursday, March 8, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Brooks Lyon Betty B. Jones Chapel with the Reverend Randy Holmes officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 1:00-2:00 at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home and other times the home of her daughter, 3009 Dan River Church Road, South Boston.
