Jacob Aaron Harris

Jacob Aaron Harris, 30, of Buffalo Junction, VA, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. Born on March 27, 1995, Jacob brought joy and light to the lives of all who knew him. He was a devoted father, loving partner, dedicated son, and cherished brother.

Jacob found his professional calling under a sub contractor at Microsoft, where he worked as a Data Center Technician. His colleagues remember him as a diligent and talented technician who thrived when working with his hands, a passion that extended beyond his professional life.

From a young age, Jacob took pleasure in gardening, and his green thumb brought life and beauty to his surroundings. His love for mechanical hobbies was unparalleled; whether it was working on his truck or tuning up his dirtbike, Jacob found immense happiness in his hands-on pursuits. He was passionate about cooking, a skill he shared graciously with family and friends. Jacob even talked about opening a food truck on multiple occasions so he could share his love for food with others.

Jacob is survived by his beloved daughter, Lyla Miller-Harris, and the love of his life, Sylvia Hite. He leaves behind his loving parents, Allie Douglas Harris Jr. and Carol Anderson Harris; his brothers Wesley Harris and wife Jamie, Adam Harris and wife Sarah, and Matthew Short and wife Christina. Not to be forgotten are his beloved pets, Bam, Dixie, Jinx, Tootie, and Kiwi. Jacob’s family was his world, and his legacy of love and laughter will remain with them forever.

The graveside service in celebration of Jacob’s life will be held at Boydton Baptist Church Cemetery at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 17, 2025. A visitation will be held the night before, Friday, May 16th from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of a life well-lived and a soul deeply loved.

Arrangements for Jacob are entrusted to Watkins-Cooper-Lyon Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations to be made to a fund for his daughter Lyla, in Jacob's memory.

Jacob Aaron Harris will be dearly missed but never forgotten. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
