James Darryl Clay

SOUTH BOSTON Mr. James Darryl Clay of South Boston passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at the age of 40. He was born in Halifax Co., VA on March 1, 1977. Darryl was a musician and artist. He was witty, loved his family and going fishing. Darryl is survived by his father, James T. Clay of Halifax; his mother, Mary Martin Childrey of South Hill; sisters, Beth Cook of Bracey and Kristie Grohman and husband, Mark of Advance, NC; niece, Kate Grohman; and nephew, Dylan Cook. The family will receive friends at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home on Thursday, January 11, 2018 from 6:00 PM until 7:30 PM. A private burial will be held at a later date.
