James W. Irby

Mr. James W. Irby, Jr. of 15 Loridon Drive, Weaverville, NC died Friday, February 11, 2011 at the age of 54. He was born in Halifax County on August 19, 1956 to James Willard Irby, Sr. and Nettie Austin Irby, and was married to Pam McCurry Irby. He was employed for 17 years with Staubli as a service engineer and sales representative. Survivors include his wife; his parents, Willard and Nettie Irby of Scottsburg, VA; one son, Toby Irby of Weaverville, NC; one daughter, Dana Irby Horton and husband Kenny of Inman, SC; two step-daughters, Brittany Allen and Brooke Allen of Weaverville, NC; one step-son, Brandon Allen and wife Heidi of Asheville, NC; two sisters, Linda Wagstaff and husband Carl of Halifax, VA and Cathy Taylor and husband Chris of Leasburg, NC; four grandchildren, Dalton, Garrison, Abrielle and Marisa. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at 2:30 PM at Brooks Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Doug Sasser and Rev. David Rathel officiating. Burial will follow in the Austin Family Cemetery, Scottsburg, VA. The family will receive friends at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, NC on Sunday, February 13 from 3 to 5 PM , and at Brooks Funeral Home on Tuesday from 1 to 2 PM, prior to the service, and at other times at the home of his Parents, 2102 Guill Town Rd., Scottsburg, VA.
