Janice Comer Davenport

Janice Comer Davenport, of Scottsburg, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, September 24, 2025 at the age of 64. She was born in Halifax County on August 5, 1961 to the late Herbert Thomas Comer and Janie Crews Comer. She was married to James Leroy Davenport, of the home.

Janice enjoyed NASCAR and was a diehard race fan. She also enjoyed all sports. Janice was a seamstress by trade and was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her husband, James; siblings, Rita Faye Edmondson, Garry Comer, Judy Rice and Joan Snead; and numerous nieces & nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Herbert Comer and a sister, Jewel Comer Boelte.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 27, 2025 at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home Chapel with the Pastor Ricky Sampson officiating and words of comfort by the Pastor Gerald Jeffress. Burial will follow at North Fork Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, 10 AM until 11 AM at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home.
