Janie Bradshaw Nichols, of South Boston, Virginia, died in her home on Thursday, August 7, 2014. Mrs. Nichols was born March 02, 1922 in Halifax County, VA to the late Walter Scott Pulliam and the late Mary Gordon Pulliam.She was married to the late Mr. Harvey Malcolm Bradshaw, and later in life married to the late Mr. Elmer Nichols. A member of the First Baptist Church, she was active in Sunday School and a dedicated member of the congregation.A voracious reader of The Bible, she often quoted from Psalms, particularly Psalm 23. Survivors include her son-in-law, William Davis Owen of Charlottesville, VA, one granddaughter, Sarah-Katharine Owen of Arlington, VA, who always affectionately called her “Gum-Gum”, one niece, Merle Osborne of Alton, VA, two nephews, Wayne Bradshaw and wife Harriet of South Boston, VA, and Lloyd Bradshaw and wife Patricia of Alton, VA, one step-daughter, Kim Nichols Lewis, husband Keith, of Baltimore, MD; two step-grandchildren, Lara Winn Lewis of Boston, MA and James Lewis of Crozet, VA; and caregivers, Charlene Carrington, Rosa Morton, and Maggie Warren, all of South Boston, VA, and who brought her a great deal of laughter. One beloved daughter, Carole Bradshaw Owen of Charlottesville, VA, preceded Mrs. Nichols in death. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 9, 2014 from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church. Funeral services for Mrs. Nichols will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Dave Anderson and Rev.
