Jennie Russell Gillispie Elliott

Clarksville, VA - Jennie Russell Gillispie Elliott, widow of Carroll Irving Gillispie and Robert “Bob” Elliott, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at the age of 79.She was born in Roxboro, NC on January 16, 1937 to the late Julia Fuller Russell and the late Ollie Russell.Mrs. Elliott worked for Burlington Industries, the Town of Clarksville, the County of Chesterfield and Benchmark Community Bank.She was a loyal member of Clarksville Baptist Church, where she sang for many years in the choir. Mrs. Elliott is survived by daughter, Sherri Smith and her husband, Jeff; granddaughter, Caroline Smith all of Raleigh, NC; brother-in-law, Wick Gillispie; sisters-in-law, Dorothy “Dot” Gillispie, and Julia Anne Gillispie; nieces, Cecil Ann Clayton, Tina Bulifant, and Terry Caserta; nephews, Glen Gillispie and Todd Gillispie. Visitation for Jennie Russell Gillispie Elliott will be held from 1 – 2 p.m. on Monday, January 9, 2017 at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home, 703 Virginia Avenue, Clarksville, VA.Immediately following visitation, there will be a graveside service at Oakhurst Cemetery with the Reverend Dr. Greg Randall officiating.
