Jimmie Nelson Seate, a beloved resident of Buffalo Junction, VA, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 10th, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on August 15th, 1946, in South Boston, VA, Jimmie touched the lives of those around him with his kind spirit, dedication, and warmth.
A career welder with ABB Industries, Jimmie contributed not only to his community through his work but also through his service as a deacon at the Buffalo Baptist Tabernacle. His faith was an integral part of his life, and he took great joy in helping with church events and supporting his congregation. Jimmie was also an avid sports enthusiast, dedicating much of his time to playing softball, coaching baseball, and cheering proudly at his grandchildren's games.
Jimmie's memory will be cherished by his loving family, including his beloved wife of 59 years, Mable Tillotson Seate, his daughter Rainey Younger (Swanson), his son Todd Seate (Tammy), and his sisters Pat Matthews (Sug), Alice Loftis (Don), and Forrest Jacobs. He was a proud grandfather to Glenn Younger (Corrina), Jessica Younger, William Seate (Carly), and Katie Seate, and a delighted great-grandfather to S.J. Younger. His family extended to numerous nieces, nephews, and cherished friends who will forever hold him in their hearts.
He bravely served his country as a proud member of the United States Army and continued to demonstrate the values of commitment and service throughout his life. Jimmie was predeceased by his parents, Glenn Seate and Lizzie Seate, whose legacy he continued through his family.
His life of dedication and service will be honored during a funeral service on Wednesday, April 15th, 2026, at 2:00 PM at the Buffalo Baptist Tabernacle, in Buffalo Junction. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation, which will take place one hour prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 PM. A burial will follow the funeral service in the church cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the compassionate care of Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home.
Jimmie's journey was graced by the love and companionship of his community and his family. He was a man of great character who will be profoundly missed by all who were blessed to know him. His life was a testament to love, faith, and the joy of family, leaving a lasting imprint on the hearts of everyone he encountered.
