Jimmy Claude Hatcher

March 12, 1952 — July 7, 2025

South Boston

Jimmy Claude Hatcher, a resident of South Boston, Virginia, passed away on Monday, July 7, 2025, at the age of 73. He was born in Farmville, Virginia, on March 12, 1952. He was the son of Willie and Mattie Lou Wallace Hatcher. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Waggoner Hatcher, of 45 years.

Jimmy dedicated 27 years of his life to Bo's Hydraulics, where he was not only a diligent worker but also a cherished colleague and friend. Outside of his professional life, Jimmy found joy in the simpler things. He was an ardent fisherman who delighted in the tranquility of the water, and a keen card player whose strategic games brought laughter and camaraderie.

A true family man, Jimmy's heart was the happiest when surrounded by loved ones. Whether he was playing cornhole, tossing horseshoes, or just enjoying quality time. His family was his pride and joy. Jimmy also had a love for riding through the countryside. On quieter days, he could be found playing cards or sitting on his front porch. He was a member of Bread of Life Church and loved his church family dearly.

In addition to his wife, Nancy, he is survived by his children, Mark Hatcher (Brandy), David Tuck (Sherry), Carol Tuck (Mitch), & Patricia Tuck; grandchildren, Jacob, Leah & Brody Hatcher, Blake, Wyatt & Pacey Hatcher, Barry & Matthew Tuck, Cory & Arryn Tuck and Samantha Tuck; numerous great grandchildren; brother, John William Hatcher (Debra), niece & nephew, Amy Reese & Keith Hatcher; and special family members, Willie & Brenda Waggoner.

He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas William Hatcher; and grandsons, Clinton & Christopher Tuck.

A Funeral Service will be held at 12 Noon on Friday, July 11, 2025 at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at the Wallace Family Cemetery in Drakes Branch, Virginia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 11 AM until service time on Friday at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home.
