Jo Ann Murphy Poole

SOUTH BOSTON - Jo Ann Poole of South Boston, VA passed away on Tuesday, November 8, 2016. She was born on March 29, 1925 in Athens, OH. She was the daughter of the late John and Hal Dean Murphy and was married to the late Dred W. Poole, Sr. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Kay Price. Jo Ann was a Past Matron of Fork Union Chapter #111 OES and a member of of the DAR. She was a Past Grand Secretary of the Grand Chapter of VA OES for 13 years. Jo Ann is survived by a step son, Dred Poole, Jr. and wife, Judy and their family of Long Island, NY. She is survived by her extended family, Roger and Libby Slagle and their children, Roger, Jr., Charles, Elizabeth, Jr., and Shane. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, November 10, 2016 at 2:00 PM at Lyles Baptist Church Cemetery in Wilmington, VA.
