Josephine "Ella" Carver Blanks

SOUTH BOSTON Josephine Elvira "Ella" Blanks of South Boston passed away on Monday, January 31, 2022 at the age of 91. Born in Halifax County on February 23, 1930 she was the daughter of the late Willie and Eva Carver and was married to the late James Johnson Blanks. Ella is survived by her children, Dennis Daniel (Annie), Larry Blanks (Vickie), John "Jim" Blanks, Ricky Blanks (Jackie), Becky Wilkerson (Mack), Jane Elliott, and Vickie Conner (Cecil); 14 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and her sister, Dora Lee Ambrose. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Aleese Hayes and Rosetta Oldham; granddaughter, Angela Elliott; grandson, Seth Allen Daniel and her son in law, Randolph Elliott. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Trevor Heins officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
