Justin Joseph Kempo

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend, Senior State Trooper Justin Joseph Kempo. Born on a sunny Saturday, June 2, 1984, Justin touched the lives of countless people during his 42 years. He was called home on Monday, July 20, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of courage, dedication, unwavering faith, and boundless love.

Justin proudly served as a Senior State Trooper with the Virginia State Police for almost two decades, a calling he embraced with honor and humility. A decorated trooper, he found profound purpose and pride in protecting and serving the Commonwealth of Virginia. His work in security assessment reflected his commitment to public safety, while his love of BattleTech and his passion for drones showcased the curiosity, intelligence, and enthusiasm he brought to everything that captured his interest.

Above all else, Justin’s greatest calling was being a Man of God and devoted family man. His family was the center of his world, and every decision he made was rooted in his love for them. He is survived by his devoted wife, Staci Griffin Kempo, and their beloved sons, Trent, Dominick, and Gabriel. He poured his heart into his family, leading with strength, laughter, compassion, and unwavering patience and love. The legacy he leaves in his children will endure for generations.

He is also survived by his loving parents, Joseph and Donna Stevens Kempo; his brother, Dallas Kempo, and his wife, Kacey, along with their children, Connor, Derek, and Camille; and his brother, Joshua Kempo, and his wife, Shelby.

Justin is further survived by his mother-in-law, Donna Brigman, and her husband, Logan Brigman; his father-in-law, Rick Griffin, and his wife, Stacey Griffin; and his brothers-in-law, Carlos Rossi and Ryan Brigman.

He is also survived by his uncles and aunts, Michael Stevens, Stanley Stevens, Lynn Stevens, Susan Stevens, Stephen and Susan Kempczynski, and Tricia Kempczynski; as well as his cousins, Tabitha and her husband, Zach; Vincent and his wife, Kaylie; Jessica; Katie; Kelly and her husband, Uriah; and Christiana Kempczynski.

Justin’s faith in Jesus Christ was the foundation of his life. He lived with a servant’s heart, extending kindness, grace, and generosity to everyone he met. Whether wearing his uniform, spending time with his family, or helping someone in need, Justin’s life reflected the values he held most dear.

Though his time on earth was far too short, the impact of his life will be felt forever in the countless people he protected, mentored, loved, and inspired. His courage, gentle spirit, infectious smile, and steadfast devotion to his family will never be forgotten.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, August 1, 2026 at New Hope Baptist Church.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 10 A.M. until 11 A.M.  A reception will follow the service.
