Kathy Davis Bowen, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, passed away on Monday, December 29th, 2025, at the age of 72. Kathy was born in Oxford, NC on February 25th, 1953, to the late Lawrence and Kathleen Hite Davis. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Ray Bowen.
Kathy found her calling as a bus driver and para-professional, where her nurturing spirit and patient demeanor touched the lives of countless children and their families over the years. Beyond her professional accomplishments and being a proud alumni of Averett University, when not farming alongside her husband, Kathy loved gardening and doing floral arrangements. Known for her green thumb, she cultivated beautiful gardens and crafted stunning floral displays that brought joy to all who beheld them. Outside of her passion for plants, Kathy’s greatest joy was her family. Her steadfast love for family defined her life, and she cherished every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild.
Kathy is survived by her children, Kathryn Bowen-Dotten (Chris), Connie Bowen Spradlin (James) and Quentin Bowen (Jennifer); her grandchildren, Payton Adams, Katlyn Adams, Cole Bowen, Cale Bowen, Kennedy Bowen & Jamie Spradlin; her great grandchild, Ellie Adams and a sister, Mildred Cash.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Brenda Davis.
