Lillie Rose Ligon Murray

Lillie Rose Ligon Murray, 93, widow of William James Woodson Murray, passed away on June 30, 2011 at The Seasons at Woodview Nursing Home. Mrs. Murray was born on September 1, 1917 in Buffalo Junction, VA to Mary Harriett Slagle Ligon and William Henry Ligon. A graduate of Clarksville High School with the Class of 1934, she was retired from Leggett's Department Store. Lillie was a member of Union Christian Church. Funeral services will be 3PM Sunday in the chapel at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Virgilina Cemetery. Lillie is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Marshall and Peggy Murray of Roxboro, NC; brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Alice Ligon of Buffalo Junction, and sister, Evelyn L. Williams of Chesterfield. Her grandchildren, Dickie Williams, William David and Timothy James Murray; and great-grandchildren Kathryn and Lauren Murray also survive. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Judy M. Etheridge, brothers, Billy and Jack Ligon, and sisters, Maybelle L. Long and Odell L.Poole. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, starting at 2PM
