Linda Bain Arthur, a beloved resident of Clarksville, VA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 18th, 2025, at the age of 82. Born on Friday, January 22nd, 1943, Linda lived a life full of love, dedication, and cherished memories.
Linda was a devoted homemaker, creating a warm and loving home for her family whom she adored above all else. Married for 63 wonderful years to the love of her life, Benjamin Arthur, she fondly referred to her husband as "Mr. Perfect," a testament to their enduring bond and the care he provided for her throughout these years.
A high school graduate, Linda’s education paved the way for her lifelong learning and curiosity. She found immense joy in reading, often immersing herself in books that allowed her imagination to soar. Linda was also captivated by the beauty of hummingbirds and could often be found enjoying the serenity of time spent in and by the lake.
Linda was also a past member of Jamieson Memorial Methodist Church, where she contributed to her community and embraced her faith. Her dedication to her church and its members made her a cherished presence among her peers.
She is lovingly survived by her sons, David (Robin) Arthur of Hurt, VA, and Bain (Lori) Arthur of Forest, VA. Linda leaves behind a legacy through her grandchildren, Lindsie (Jimmy) Goodman of Hurt, VA, Ben Arthur of Hurt, VA, Matt Arthur of Charlotte, NC, and Noah (Isabelle Kocher) Arthur of Forest, VA, as well as her great-grandchildren, Juliana and Alina Goodman, both of Hurt, VA. Each carry with them the values, love, and spirit that Linda so wonderfully instilled.
A service to honor and celebrate Linda's life will be held on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home Chapel in Clarksville, VA, with Visitation following Linda's service. Arrangements have been entrusted to Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home. The family appreciates the love and support of friends and community members during this difficult time.
Linda Bain Arthur's kindness, dedication to family, and zest for life will be missed dearly, but her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
