Linda Diane Spencer Wilborn

Linda Diane Wilborn of South Boston, affectionately known as "Diane", passed away on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at the age of 70. She was born in Halifax County on Friday, July 6, 1956

to the late John Thomas Spencer and Lillie Poole Spencer.

Diane dedicated over a decade of her professional life to O'Sullivan, and she also made significant contributions during her time with Yancey Wholesale Supply. Professionally respected and admired, Diane's colleagues remember her not just for her work ethic but for the warmth and integrity she brought to every endeavor.

Her passions stretched far and wide, encompassing a love for racing, a thirst for stories through reading, and a profound joy found in the power of music. An avid collector, her home was adorned with angels — a testament to her spiritual grace. Her faith was further reflected in her attendance at Grace Baptist Church, where she found a loving community.

One of the most anticipated moments of her life came with the news of her impending role as a grandmother. The excitement she felt was immeasurable and lovingly shared with everyone around her, illuminating her nurturing spirit and boundless capacity for love.

She is survived by her sons, William Charles Wilborn, Jr. and Daniel Young Wilborn (Karen); grandchildren, Emerie Skye Wilborn and Sadie Rae Wilborn; brother, Steven "Buck" Spencer (Janice) and a very special friend, Sheila Carrington.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Randy Dean Spencer and Thomas Tracey Spencer, and a sister, Rossie Ann Spencer.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 AM on Thursday, September 17, 2026 at Hitesburg Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Olive Branch Baptist Church Cemetery in Roxboro, NC.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, 10:30 AM until 11:30 AM at Hitesburg Baptist Church.

The family requests in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Brooks Lyon Funeral Home for the funeral expenses. of Diane.
