Linda Maxey Hamlett

Linda Maxey Hamlett, 70 years old of Alton, Virginia, passed away on May 28th 2026 at her home, surrounded by love.

She was born on July 3rd, 1955, in Martinsville, Virginia to Virginia Irene Maxey and William E. Maxey Jr. Throughout her life she was known for her kindness, warmth and strength. She had a way of making everyone feel like family.

She is survived by her husband, Alton William Hamlett; daughters, Jennifer Hamlett-Seay (Richard) and Mandy Hamlett Boswell (Matt); grandchildren, Mahaley Boswell and Matthew Boswell; sisters, Donna Maxey and Wanda Stanfield, who will carry her memory forward in the stories they tell and the love she gave so freely.

She was preceded in death by her parents; Virginia Irene Maxey and William E. Maxey Jr and her son, Steven Michael Hamlett.

To know her was to know a gentle and loving soul, she will be deeply missed and forever loved.

The family will receive visitors at the home. 

A memorial service will take place at a later date.
