Lita Renee Wilmouth of Scottsburg, passed away on September 3, 2026. She was born on June 17, 1961, in Halifax County to the late, Bobby Wilmouth and Linda Childrey Wilmouth.

Lita was a dedicated resident of Scottsburg, VA, where she dedicated her life to her family, friends, and community.

Lita owned and operated Lita's Tax Service in Scottsburg, where she took immense pride in helping her clients, treating each one with the respect and care of a dear friend. Her work was not merely an occupation, but a calling through which she touched many lives.

A social butterfly at heart, Lita found joy and solace in music, often attending concerts that filled her spirit with happiness. Her love for melodies was her therapy, offering her peace and joy. Lita cherished her time spent with her grandchildren and reveled in their laughter and light. She was immensely proud of her children and all they had achieved, always their greatest champion.

In her spare time, Lita cultivated beauty through her flower garden, a reflection of the colors and vibrancy she brought into the lives of everyone she encountered. Her energy was contagious, and her love for life was evident in everything she did.

She is survived by a son, Nick Puckett; daughter, Leah Puckett Cole (Chase); grandsons, Gunnar Puckett, JT Cole & Beau Cole; sisters, Tracey Powell (Kevin) and Bobbie Goodman (Jason); nieces & nephews, Lorrie & Corrie Conner, Katie Conner, Alyssa & Beckett Goodman; coworker and close friend, Rhonda Carr Fears; lifelong best friends, Peggy Bomar and Stephanie Elliott; and a host of good friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her special friend, Tim Simmerman.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 5th at her home starting at 6:00 PM. If directions are needed, please contact a family member.
