Lottie Hite Boyd

SOUTH BOSTON Mrs. Lottie Hite Boyd of South Boston passed away on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at the age of 96. She was born in Mecklenburg County, VA on June 3, 1921 the daughter of the late Stephen Bedford Hite and the late Emma Owen Hite and was married to the late Harvey Bruce Boyd. Lottie was a graduate of Clarksville High School and was a member of Grace Baptist Church. Mrs. Boyd is survived by three sons, Marshall Boyd and wife, Tina of Kingsland, GA, Ray Boyd and wife, Trauti of Halifax, VA, and Horace Boyd and wife, Christine of New Rochelle, NY; 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 5 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and a daughter, Janice Moderelli. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Grace Baptist Church with the Reverend Jack Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home on Saturday, February 3 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM and at other times at the home, 5204 Bill Tuck Hwy., South Boston.
