Louise Reaves Bowes

SOUTH BOSTON Mrs. Louise Reaves Bowes passed away on Monday, April 20, 2020 at the age of 85. She was born in Person County, NC on December 16, 1934 to the late Jessie and Nomie Solomon Reaves and was married to the late Fred Kent Bowes, Sr. Louise loved traveling, yard sales and all the people she encountered. She was a cashier at the former Halifax Theater and a member of the American Legion Post 8 Auxiliary, where she served as president for many years. Left to cherish her memories is a daughter, Sibyl B. Powell; son, Fred Kent Bowes, Jr. and wife, Kathy;grandchildren, Fred Kent “Kenny” Bowes, III and wife, Tami, Candice D. Powell, Katie Keatts and husband, John and Travis Powell and wife, Khaela; great grandchildren, Zoey Powell, Tucker Powell, Scarlet Keatts, Savannah Bowes, Kaden Bowes,Kason Bowes and Hunter Pace; brother, James Reaves and sisters, Thelma Jones, Bessie Rowland, Dean Pettiford, Carolyn Bowman and Judy Thaxton. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Alvis Reaves and a son in law, Randy Powell. Services will be private.
