Louise Sizemore Loftis, a beloved member of the Bullock, NC community, passed away on Tuesday, October 21st, 2025, at the age of 90. Born in South Boston, Virginia, on June 6th, 1935, Louise led a life of dedication, care, and creativity.
Preceded in death by her parents, Walter Noel Sizemore and Alice Yancey Sizemore, as well as her devoted husband, Winford Allen Loftis, Louise was a cherished daughter, wife, and friend to many.
Louise devoted much of her life to supporting and nurturing those in need. She was employed as a cottage counselor at the Oxford Orphanage in Oxford, North Carolina, where she worked tirelessly, offering love and guidance to the children she cared for as if they were her own. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her professional role and enriched the lives of all who knew her.
An artist at heart, Louise had a deep appreciation for the arts, a passion she lovingly shared with the children at the orphanage. Ceramics, in particular, held a special place in her heart. Louise also found joy and tranquility in the great outdoors, with a special fondness for tending to her yard and garden, reflecting her love of nature.
She is survived by a sister, Anna Jean Overstreet (Roger) of Powhatan; brother, Travis "Pete" Sizemore (Mary Ann) of Grassy Creek; nieces and nephews, Tim Sizemore (Wanda), Michael Sizemore (Debbie), Gene Sizemore (Amy) & Steve Sizemore, Donna Coggins (Richard), Michelle Wright (David) & Lori Williamson (Eddie); numerous great nieces & nephews; and all the special children she was a mother to over the years. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Mackenzie Hughes, Amy Anderson, and Tim Sizemore for their compassionate care.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, Paul Sizemore & Elbert Sizemore and a nephew, Walter Sizemore.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 24, 2025 at Grassy Creek Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, 1 PM until 2 PM, at Grassy Creek Baptist Church.
Arrangements for Louise Sizemore Loftis have been made by Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home. Her family invites those who knew her to share in the celebration of her life and the wonderful memories she left behind.
