Louise Hazelwood Whitlow

Louise Hazelwood Whitlow, wife of the late James Maynard Whitlow, passed away at her home on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at the age of 102. She was born in Vernon Hill, VA, on July 12, 1918 to the late Robert Samuel Hazelwood and the late Martha Dunkley Hazelwood. Louise formerlyworked at Craddock Terry Shoe Corporation, but the most important job she had was tending to her home and family.She enjoyed gardening, traveling and collecting antique china and glassware. Louise was a member of the South Boston Church of God. Survivors include son, James Carroll Whitlow and wife, Connie; granddaughter, Tracey Whitlow Lewis; great grandchildren, Alexandra Lewis and Jared Lewis; sister, Cecile Ingram. Louise is also survived by friend and caregiver, Prim Cole and special friends, Ann and Ed Chaney, Dan Spangler, Deborah Cage and Susan Bohn. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Bobby Lynn Whitlow, 3 brothers and a sister. A graveside funeral service will be held at 2 PMon Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at Oak Ridge Cemetery. The Reverend Pat Nielsen will officiate.
