Lucy Bowen Newton

Mrs. Lucy Bowen Wilkerson Newton, 83, widow of Rommie Bailey Newton, died Friday, May 21, 2004 in South Boston. Mrs. Newton was a homemaker and liver her entire life in the Buffalo Junction community. Funeral services will be Monday, May 24th at 2pm at Buffalo Baptist Tabernacle, of which she was a member. Burial will take place at Aarons Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Newton is survived by her son, Dewey Wilkerson of Buffalo Junction; two brothers, William of Virgilina and Andrew of Buffalo Junction; two grandsons, Gary and Jason Wilkerson; and three great-grandchildren, Matthew, Heather, and Frankie. She was pre-deceased by her first husband, Dewey George Wilkerson and one sister, Gracie Wilkerson. The family will receive friends Sunday, May 23rd from 7-9 pm at Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home.
