Lucy Vest

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Lucy Vest, a cherished wife, sister-in-law, aunt, and friend. Lucy departed this world peacefully on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at the age of 73.

Born on April 2, 1953, Lucy dedicated her life to the care and well-being of animals, serving as a veterinarian assistant for many years. Lucy was known for her warm heart and tireless efforts to save and protect animals in need.

Lucy is survived by her devoted husband, Mory Vest; her brother-in-law, Bobby Wayne Vest, and sister-in-law, Carol Vest Mulchi. She leaves behind a legacy of love through her 1 nephew, 5 nieces, and 10 great-nieces and nephews, all of whom cherished her presence and guidance. She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Danny Vest.

Family and friends are invited to honor Lucy's life at a funeral service on Wednesday, July 22nd, at 2:00 pm at Brooks Lyon Funeral Home. Prior to the service, there will be a visitation starting at 1:00 pm. Following the service, Lucy will be laid to rest at The Tuck Family Cemetery in Gretna, VA.

Lucy's kindness, dedication, and unwavering spirit will be remembered by all who knew her. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched and the lives she transcended through her love and compassion for animals.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Brooks Lyon Funeral Home, who have been a great comfort to the family in this time of need.
