Mary "John" Reamey Jolly

Clarksville, VA - Mary “John” Reamey Jolly, age 92, passed away on Monday, May 16, 2016.She was born in Mecklenburg County on May 9, 1924 to the late Mamie Freeman and James Horace Reamey.Mrs. Jolly worked as a Home Health nurse, always putting concern for others ahead of herself. “John” loved animals and angels, was full of life and a joy to be around. She and her late husband, Grant, had a passion for restoring old homes.She was a charter member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, a member of the Eastern Star Chapter #145 and a member of Jamieson Memorial United Methodist Church. Mrs. Jolly was preceded in death by her husband, Grant Beverly Jolly.She is survived by brother, Marshall “Jack” Reamey of Richmond, VA, niece, Sylvia Allen (Carroll), nephews, Michael David Hopper, Lee Allen Reamey and Jim Reamey, 4 great nephews, 1 great-great nephew and 3 great-great nieces. Services for Mary “John” Jolly will be Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Watkins Cooper Lyon Funeral Home, 703 Virginia Ave., Clarksville, VA with burial to follow at Trinity United Methodist Church.The family will receive friends prior to the service beginning at 1 p.m. The Reverend Jane Lyon is officiating.
