Mozelle Moss Moore, age 93, peacefully entered her heavenly home on Saturday, October 18, 2025. Born in Skipwith, VA, she was the daughter of the late Herbert Graydon and Beaulah Morgan Moss. Mozelle was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Pastor George Moore. Together, they faithfully served in 11 different churches across 6 states and founded the Christian camp Glory Ridge, dedicating many years to sacrificially serving the Lord. In addition to her ministry work, Mozelle worked as a school bus driver for over 30 years. She cherished the opportunity to meet and minister to countless children. Mozelle was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Greenville, SC.
In addition to her husband, Mozelle is preceded in death by her daughter, Julia Moore Bailey, sisters, Blair Young and Annette Osborne, and brothers, Herbert Moss, Jr. and Victor Moss. Mozelle is survived by her daughters, Jennie Edmonds (Kenny), and Janice Ayer (Ray); grandchildren, Katherine Capps (Tim), Kenneth Edmonds (Rebekah), Steven Edmonds (Jamie), Jeff Bailey (Sarah), Chris Edmonds (Joy), Chad Ayer (Felisha), and Chelsea Ayer (Ricky); great grandchildren, Ella and Anna Capps, Alexis, Arabella, Lucas, Abbigail, Landon, Braelynn, and Bryson Edmonds, Cooper and Ada Bailey, Riley Ayer, and Emma Fox, and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 4pm Thursday, October 23, 2025, at Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Service. Brother Eddie Fox will officiate.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
A graveside service will be held at 2pm Friday, October 24, 2025, at Bluestone Cemetery, Clarksville VA. Reverend Chris Edmonds will officiate. Kenneth and Chris Edmonds, Jeff Bailey, Chad Ayer, Tim Capps, and Gray Moss will serve as pallbearers. Landon and Bryson Edmonds, and Cooper Bailey will serve as honorary pallbearers.
Mozelle’s contagious smile and fiery spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all the caregivers who lovingly supported Mozelle over the past three years. Their dedication and compassion provided comfort and companionship, and Mozelle cherished each of them as if they were her own family. She remained deeply appreciative of their unwavering care and kindness throughout her final years.
