Myrtle Smith Link

SOUTH BOSTON, VA Mrs. Myrtle Smith Link of Bold Springs Road, South Boston went to her heavenly home Monday, January 15, 2018 at the age of 92.Born in Halifax County on October 27, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Jesse Thomas Smith and the late Ida Bell Trickey and was married first to the late Harvey Crowder and her last husband, Willard Lambert Link. Myrtle was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church and worked at Burlington Industries as a weaver for many years. She is survived by a daughter, Claudia Crowder Fitts and husband, Willie; daughter in law, Sherry Lynn Link; grandchildren, Wendy Fitts-Brooks and husband, Henry and Edward Lambert Link; great grandchildren, Jacob David Wilson and Joseph Marshall Wilson, all of South Boston. Other than her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a son, Donald Vincent Link. Funeral services for Myrtle Link will be Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Harmony United Methodist Church, Alton, VA with Reverend Bonnie Pizzeck and Reverend Raymond Wooten officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday one hour prior to the service, 1:00-2:00 PM at Harmony United Methodist Church.
